OFFICERS

Rebecca Teutschel
Chair
Burr Pilger Mayer Inc.


Rebecca Tseutchel, currently serves as this year's board chair. She is a partner at the CPA firm of Burr Pilger Mayer, Inc. where her position encompasses financial reporting, tax compliance and planning for business entities and individuals, business and succession planning, business advisory and special projects. She also serves on the chamber's Executive Committee and Finance Committee.

Dan Dykwel
Immediate Past-Chair
Keller Williams Realty


Dan Dykwel, immediate past chair, serves on our executive and finance committees and is active with GAC. Dan's day job is with Keller Williams Realty. Dan ran for City Council in 2009, has been a long-time volunteer with local schools and active with Project Safety Net.

Colleen Gerstner
Vice Chair, Events
Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel


Colleen Gerstner is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Sheraton and Westin Palo Alto. Colleen has been a board member since 2008 and has worked on several chamber committees including the Executive Committee, Tall Tree Silent Auction Committee and chair of the Events Committee.


Carroll Harrington
Vice Chair, PA Bus. Goes Green



Carroll Harrington
, of Harrington Design, specializes in graphic design, social media and campaign development. She was named the recipient of the 2009 Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce Tall Tree Professional/Business Person and the 1993 Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce Athena Award. Besides being a Leaders Circle member, Carroll is also Vice Chair of the chamber's Palo Alto Goes Green Committee.

Rotary – Service Clubs

Hal Mickelson is the incoming President of the Palo Alto Rotary Club while also serving on the chamber board. A longtime supporter of the chamber, Hal has been the voice of solid reason, common sense and good cheer on the board over the years.


Jon Kiya

Wells Fargo Business Bank



Jon Kiya is a Principal Business Relationship Manager at the Wells Fargo Business Banking office in Palo Alto where he provides financial solutions to midsize privately-held businesses and non-profit organizations. Jon is currently active on the finance, government action and ambassador committees of the chamber.

Jeffery Phillips
Garden Court Hotel



Jeffrey Phillips is Guest Services Manager at the Garden Court Hotel. Following in the footsteps of his mentor and past chamber board chair, Barbara Gross, Jeffrey hosted a recent chamber focus group at the hotel along with chairing the Spring Challenge 2012 Membership Drive. He was recognized as the top seller of the drive bringing in the highest amount of revenue in new memberships.

Mehran Farahani, was awarded the chamber's 2011 Member Recruiter of the Year award, has served on the Chamber's Ambassador Committee and continues to be one our top Ambassadors. Mehran is a Banking Center Manager and Assistant Vice President at Comerica Bank in Palo Alto.

Richard Hackmann
EPIC Palo Alto/City of Palo Alto



Richard Hackmann
, is a Management Specialist with the City of Palo Alto. Richard is founder and chair of EPIC Palo Alto (Emerging Professionals in Commerce, a chamber program that offers social and educational events on a monthly basis. He also is a member of the Events Committee and actively helps with the Tall Tree Silent Auction.

Erin McDermit
Shuman Snyder LLP



Erin McDermit, provides the board with advice in her area of expertise - employment law. Erin is an attorney with the employment law firm Shuman Snyder LLP. Erin has been and continues to be a great resource for the chamber in building HR best practices. She especially enjoys participating in the annual Festival of the Arts by volunteering in the chamber booth.


Joan Opp
Stanford Federal Credit Union



Joan Opp joined the board just last year. She is the President/CEO of Stanford Federal Credit Union, one of this year's top sponsors for the 2012 Business Expo and a frequent contributor to the Palo Alto community. Joan is a member of the chamber's finance committee where she brings her expertise as a CPA and her insight as a former chamber board member from Mansfield, Texas.

Lucy Wicks
Stanford University



Lucy Wicks, Assistant Director of Community Relations at Stanford University, acts as a liaison between the University and community-based organizations, government officials, businesses and individuals. She was instrumental in producing last year's Centennial Celebration at Tesla and she served as an advisor to the 2012 Palo Alto Business Expo held last March at Tesla. She was also part of the planning committee for Leadership Palo Alto's Stanford Day.


Carla Cumpston
Edward Jones



Carla Cumpston
, is a Certified Financial Planner with Edward Jones investment firm. Her areas of specialties include simplifying and consolidating assets, retirement and education planning, risk management and taxable, tax deferred and tax-free investments. Carla served as board chair for FY 2008-2009 and leads the Tuesday morning meeting of The Palo Alto Business Referral Network.


Shiyama Clunie

AT&T



Shiyama Clunie
is the Area Manager for AT&T's External Affairs department, where she is charged with maintaining AT&T's position as a good corporate citizen in the communities it serves. Shiyama is currently leading AT&T's effort to improve wireless service in Palo Alto, an important goal for Palo Alto businesses and residents alike. 


Elaine Kearney

Boomerang



Elaine Kearney is co-founder and CFO of Boomerang, a leading email marketing software vendor located in Palo Alto for the past 20 years. Boomerang's tools are used by more than 1700 customers in 20 countries. Boomerang and Elaine are currently helping upgrade and streamline the chamber's email marketing and other digital communication systems.


Lanie Wheeler
Vice Chair, Finance
Palo Alto Community Child Care


Lanie Wheeler is Chief Financial Officer at Palo Alto Community Child Care. As a volunteer, she serves as the chamber's vice chair of finance and in addition, is a board member of the Palo Alto Library Foundation, the Palo Alto Housing Corporation and a lifetime member of the Palo Alto Kiwanis Club. She has also served as a Palo Alto council member, a planning commissioner, and in 1996 she served as Palo Alto's Mayor. Lanie was the recipient of the Tall Tree Award for Outstanding Citizen/Volunteer in 2003.

Rachael Gibson
Santa Clara Valley Water District



Rachael Gibson
works for the Santa Clara Valley Water District (a Silver Leaf Sponsor) in the Office of Government Relations, where she heads up local government affairs. 

Steve Paterson
Daily News



Steve Paterson is Publisher of the Daily News in Palo Alto. He is also the Group Publisher for Community Newspaper Division of the Bay Area News Group.This includes the Milpitas Post, Freemont Bulletin, Silicon Valley Community Newspaper Group and the Pacifica Tribune. Paterson has also been involved in various civic organizations during his career. He has served as adirector or chair on industry, county, city and state appointed boards, economic development, business promotion and other Chamber of Commerce boards throughout his moves across the country.

Byron Radar
Skype



Byron Rader
works at Skype in Palo Alto leading the functional Integration activities. Byron moved to California last summer where he was the CFO of Microsoft France in charge of finance activities for Sales, Marketing, Services, Entertainment and Devices as well as Consumer Online. Before moving to France, Byron worked at Microsoft Corporate in Seattle as Chief of Staff supporting WW Sales, Marketing and Services as well as doing special projects for the Microsoft CFO and CEO. Byron also worked in Sweden managing finance activities and in Seattle managing Microsoft's strategic investment portfolio and the Financial Planning & Analysis team supporting Worldwide Operations. Byron received his MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and his Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, San Diego in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences. Byron is married and has three kids ages 14, 11 and 9 and enjoys running, playing bridge and spending time with his family.
