Wells Fargo opens new retail branch in Palo Alto and unveils community mural
Eastside College Preparatory School receives $10,000 grant for summer program
San Francisco, CA-As part of its strategy to expand its branch presence, Wells Fargo held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new retail branch in Midtown Palo Alto. The event included a mural unveiling and a $10,000 check presentation to Eastside College Prep School to finance a five week summer program.
Wells Fargo’s Area President for the Peninsula market Christina Pels-Martinez and members of her team were joined by Palo Alto Mayor Greg Scharff, representatives from the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from the Midtown Residents Association for the opening of the new branch to be located at 2754 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony and a $10,000 check presentation to Eastside College Preparatory School, the Wells Fargo team unveiled the community mural depicting the history and legacy of the Palo Alto community and celebrating its diversity. It includes views of the Stanford campus and features images of Helen Gertrude Dominguez, the first Chicana/Mexicana to graduate from Stanford, Professor Emeritus James L. Gibbs, Jr., the first tenured African-American professor at Stanford and Professor Yamato Ichihashi, one of the first academics of Asian ancestry in the United States.
“The branch opening reaffirms Wells Fargo's long-standing commitment to meet our customers’ financial needs. Given the importance of face-to-face interaction, this branch and the bankers will play an important role in strengthening our relationship with the community,” said Pels-Martinez.Contact:Tim Sherwood, Marketing Consultanttsherwood@wellsfargo.com
