From Mary:
I am a professional development instructor and coach who brings my passion of over 10 years of teaching adults and youth, my diverse work experience in tech, project management, and non-profit, and my multi-cultural and international skillset to best serve your tutoring needs. It is my mission to deliver instruction that is focused on listening, compassion, and genuine excitement for the subject-matter in each lesson.
I have been a full-time and freelance professional instructor with a corporate training company in San Francisco and Silicon Valley for over three years. I specialize in delivering Microsoft Suite products (Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word) and leadership skills (communication skills, public speaking, organizational change management, diversity training for corporations, women’s leadership, and professional writing).
I got my start by traveling internationally and providing freelance tutoring services to youth in English and French, as well as tennis and ballet. Over the past three years I have become a full-time adult professional development instructor for a corporate training company. My clients include: Fortune 500 Companies, pharmaceutical & tech (BioMarin, BlackRock, Genentech,
Riverbed, Walmart); global and local non-profits and government agencies (Global Fund for Women, St. Judes, City of San Francisco, San Mateo, and County of Marin Offices); and individuals ranging from finance and tech executives to managers and administrators).
My teaching philosophy is to first listen to your needs and then craft an immersive learning process that allows you to connect to the material, gain hands-on experience, and have ample time to continue practicing for mastery. I am patient and create a friendly and safe learning environment for all, encouraging questions always. By the end of the session I strive for students to feel empowered, confident, and ready to continue learning even after the lesson is over.
