Please join us for the OFJCC's premier annual fundraiser to help support ongoing educational, cultural and social programs, as well our scholarship fund. We're putting together a pop-up speakeasy*, chock-full of jazz and razzmatazz. In addition to the swanky decor, spiffy eats and scintillating schmoozing, the joint will be jumping with an encore performance by the widely-known musical collective, Postmodern Jukebox.
This year represents a particularly special OFJCC milestone. We are celebrating ten years on the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life! Join us as we commemorate a decade of Jewish community, innovation, connections, culture and joy in Silicon Valley. It just won't be the same without you, our mishpucha! 1920s Speakeasy or Cocktail Attire.
*Speakeasy: the term for an illicit nightclub in 1920s Prohibition era America. Between 1920 and 1933 in America, manufacture and sale of alcohol was illegal. As such, speakeasies arose to satisfy the secret demand for alcohol and entertainment. Speakeasies proved to be a quintessential cultural phenomenon that defined the "Roaring Twenties."
