Palo Alto loves a good conversation. Here's an opportunity to talk, listen and come together as a community. The Palo Alto Human Relations Commission and the City's Office of Human Services invite you to the first in a series of Community Conversations. For an hour or two, we'll have a serious discussion of a contemporary issue. There are important desired outcomes, including increased respect for differing perspectives and strengthened community skills for civil discourse. Each conversation will be an exploration of a topic, going beyond the superficial, testing our ability to hear and appreciate difference. More than that, at its core, the series is to provide an entertaining evening with interesting people, like you. Please join us at the first in the series: Gender Equity--What Does It Mean Here and Now? We'll spend time with Dr. Adina Sterling, Stanford University, Graduate School of Business. Dr. Sterling concentrates on organizational development and has studied gender employment and wage equity. She will kick off our broad discussion with her personal experiences. In small groups, we'll discuss: What does gender equity mean today in Palo Alto-workplace, home, school, community? How does each woman's experience differ? What are the challenges? How can we make progress towards gender equity and support the choices each woman makes? Please help us Build Community--One Conversation at a Time.
