Labor and delivery may seem like a scary undertaking for many expectant moms. In her Monday evening class, Joyce prepares women for being uncomfortable in labor, and helps them to know that they can handle it. The practice starts off slowly with a warm up, moving into a relatively vigorous strength-building vinyasa practice, and finishing with a relaxing restorative pose. In the process, moms learn how to relax on command, let go of tension and fear, to become more aware of their bodies and to feel comfortable with the changes that pregnancy brings. This is a mixed levels class, with variations to accommodate all expectant mothers.
